The Issue of Secrets

Submission deadline: September 14, 2010

Submissions should reflect the theme of secrets. Topics can be fiction or non-fiction. Secret societies, national secrets, lovers' secrets, stolen diary pages; Los Angeles, please, tell us something we aren't suppose to know.

Guidelines

Formats include ANYTHING PRINTABLE, such as short stories, poetry, prose, essays, philosophies, letters, one-acts, scripts, flash fiction, lyrics, recipes, photography, visual art, trickery, what-have-you, new or old.

General Submissions:

Include author name, email address, phone number, website(s) credit (if you have one) and LA neighborhood that you live in at the top of the email. Please also submit a 1-2 sentence blurb on who you are and what you do. Work should be submitted as a PDF Attachment to the email. Every page submitted must contain the author name and contact info somewhere on the page. If you don't live in Los Angeles, your story better be about Los Angeles!

Visual Submissions:

If submitting as potential Photographer or Visual Artist, provide us with jpegs, compressed into a zip file, attached to the email. We accept yousendit files. You should make certain that the images are 300 dpi. Name your image files as follows: last name, underscore, first name initial, underscore, image title. Example: (Smith_S_Daisies in the sun)

Workshops:

New writers are strongly encouraged to attend one of our writers workshops. The purpose of these workshops is to: a) meet a writer/artist that has submitted something wonderful & discuss how it will be implemented, or b) share a work and receive constructive feedback from the editing team/writing group. See Calendar section for workshop schedule.

If considered for publication, the author will be contacted. No material will be printed prior to author's expressed written consent.
